YEREVAN.- The Kazan meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian leaders showed that the Karabakh talks continue and one should expect new developments, said member of opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Vladimir Karapetyan.
“The meeting showed that the peace process is not over and mediators are interested in reaching the signing of basic principles,” he said.
Karapetyan noted that Serzh Sargsyan’s statement in Strasbourg, made ahead of the meeting, suggested that Armenia is ready to sign the proposed document.
“Obviously, the Kazan document was not signed because of Azerbaijan,” he added.
As regards the future of the Karabakh talks, ANC member considers during their upcoming regional visit the OSCE mediators will present 10 proposals made by Azerbaijani side in Kazan. They will probably discuss the offer with the authorities to find out which provisions are acceptable to the Armenian side.
During the trilateral meeting of presidents held in Kazan on June 24 the sides failed to sign any document.
