The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is disappointed at the results of meeting of Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani presidents in Kazan, Trend news agency reports.
“PACE, of course, supports dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia and we support the continuation of the two countries’ presidents’ meetings under the chairmanship of the Russian President,” said PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu.
The meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani held on the initiative of Russian leader Dmitry Medvedev took place in Kazan on June 24. The sides failed to agree on Basic principles of Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict settlement despite the calls of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing states Russia, U.S. and France.
In a statement issued after the meeting the presidents noted “the achievement of mutual understanding on a number of issues. Solution of these issues contributes to creating conditions for the approval of the basic principles.”
