At least 41 people have died and more than 100 residents have gone missing in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh as a result of heavy monsoon and flooding, TASS reported referring to The Times of India.

Authorities are conducting rescue operations in the affected areas. They are attended by Air Force helicopters and disaster management services.

According to forecasters, from October 1 to the present, more than 518 mm of precipitation fell in the state, which is 68% more than the average level for this period.
