The exchange of fire that took place yesterday near Norabak village of Gegharkunik Province of Armenia stopped at night, and the issue of the wounded is still being verified. This is what employee of the village council of Norabak village Armen Ghazaryan said during a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“At this moment, the situation is calm. There were no gunshots at night. The news about the casualty has been reported, and the issue of the wounded is still being verified,” he said.

According to Ghazaryan, the Armenian military posts are about 6-7 km far from the village.

“The gunshots were heard in the village, especially at night. The residents have already gotten used to this situation,” he said.

The conscript who died from the gunshots fired by the Azerbaijani side is 19-year-old Suren Safaryan, who was from Alagyaz village of Aragatsotn Province. The deceased serviceman was Yezdi by nationality, was drafted to the army last year and had already completed the first year of his service.
