The investigation into Armenian soldier Sevak Sahin, killed in Turkey on April 24 completed. The first hearings of the case will be held on Friday.

The prosecutor intends to sentence the murderer Kivanch Agaoglu to 9 years of imprisonment for a “reckless homicide”,” Turkish Vatan newspaper reports.

As reported earlier, 25-year-old Sevak graduated from Faculty of Fine Arts, Istanbul Technical University. He served in the military unit of the gendarmerie in Kozluk district of Batman province. He would have discharged from the army in 23 days. According to local mass media, he was killed from gunshot wounds, while playing with a gun with his friend on April 24. However, Sevak’s parents do not believe in it and demand a thorough investigation of his death.

Sevak’s funeral was held in Istanbul on April 27. Commander of Gendarmerie and mayor of Istanbul sent wreaths. Turkish State Minister Egemen Bagis, Sisli Mayor Mustafa Sarygul, Hrant Dink’s widow Rakel Dink also attended his funeral.

The memorial service was held at St. Vardanants Church in Istanbul. Later he was buried in the Armenian cemetery of Sisli.
