Cadets of higher military academy of Azerbaijan sent a letter to the local Musavat newspaper accusing Defense Minister Safar Abiyev of abuse of power.

The students wonder how Abiyev managed to appropriate house with an area of 1,000 square meters and over one hectare farmland which was provided by Defense Ministry.

“Abiyev decided to hold the post of a minister for the rest of his life and plunder the Defense Ministry, didn’t he? At whose expense is he building a luxury villa worth a few million? Maybe he gets a huge salary or at least huge bribes?” the students wonder.

According to the newspaper, Abiyev owns villas located near the military academy, several apartments in new buildings and a huge piece of land. His property is estimated at over 10 million manat.
