BATUMI. – A Turkish cargo ship was detained in the Georgian port of Batumi. Georgian police claimed the crew was contaminating the sea area, Georgia Online reports.
Administrative proceedings were instituted against the captain of the ship, a Turkish citizen Tacin Ercan. He has to pay fine amounting to $39,000. The ship will be kept in the impound lot in Batumi until the fine is paid.
