October 19, His Holiness Aram I met with Syrian President H.E. Bashar al-Assad.
The officials touched upon the positive contribution of Armenian community to the nation building. The peace process and other regional issues were discussed as well. They spoke about the role of religion in the maintenance of peace and justice. Aram I and Bashar al-Assad agreed that a special attention should be devoted to the interreligious dialogue and cooperation in cultural realm.
