YEREVAN. - The information that the driver carrying Armenian tourists to Georgia slept casing dangerous driving, has not yet been confirmed. The Georgian Interior Ministry has not yet issued a statement, an officer of the Armenian Embassy in Tbilisi Levon Torgomyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. “The driver says he felt bad and fainted, whereas passengers claim he slept,” Torgomyan noted.
The accident causes are yet unclear. No technical faults were reported.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, a bus carrying Armenian tourists fell into a gorge on Georgia’s Kazbegii-Tbilisi highway on Thursday evening. Armenian tourists have no life-threatening injuries. Most of them have already been discharged from hospital and returned to Armenia.
