The Kazakhstani Foreign Ministry denied reports that the country plans to leave the CSTO, stopfake.kz reported.

"The information appearing in some social networks about the allegedly planned withdrawal of Kazakhstan from the CSTO is an absolute fiction and does not correspond to reality. 

Kazakhstan is at the origins of the CSTO and is an active member of this organization. Membership in the CSTO fully meets the national interests of our country. The Collective Security Treaty provides legally binding security guarantees for its member states, including Kazakhstan. In addition, within the CSTO, skills are being developed to jointly counter international terrorism, illegal migration, drug trafficking, cross-border crime and threats in the information sphere. Thus, cooperation within the CSTO is an important area of Kazakhstan's foreign policy; our country's participation in the CSTO is stipulated by long-term strategic documents of Kazakhstan. 

In general, it is absolutely clear that Kazakhstan is not considering the possibility of withdrawal from the Collective Security Treaty Organization," said the press service of the agency.

Messages have appeared in social networks and messenger services that in early 2023, Kazakhstan plans to suspend its membership in the CSTO. The official announcement is allegedly planned for January 1.
