In the United States, a mother climbed over a fence and jumped off Niagara Falls with her five-year-old son, the Daily Mail reported.

According to the publication, the American woman came with her husband and son to Niagara Falls. The woman took the child, climbed over the fence and jumped down.

As a result of the fall, the boy survived. Rescuers were able to descend, walk on the ice and lift him out of the gorge, after which the child was transported by helicopter to the hospital.

As a result of the jump, the boy's mother died. At the moment, law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances of what happened.
