Turkey’s Nationalist Movement Party organized a protest against French President’s statements voiced in Armenia.

A 100-member group marched from Istanbul’s Taksim square to the consulate of France carrying anti-French posters, Sabah newspaper reports.

The head of party’s local office Abdurahman Baskan said Nicolas Sakozy manifested disrespectful conduct against Turkey by labeling the 1915 events as genocide.

He stressed that Sarkozy’s statement was a part of election campaign.
