The conflict between Israel and the Hamas movement led to the displacement of 90 percent of the residents of the Gaza Strip, stated Andrea De Domenico, Head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs - occupied Palestinian territory (OCHA oPt).

According to UN estimates, 9 out of 10 residents of the Gaza Strip have been displaced at least once, if not ten times since October 2023, when the conflict between Israel and Hamas began, De Domenico said, reports Al Mayadeen television of Lebanon.

He added that at the moment, the number of displaced persons is about 1.9 million.

According to OCHA oPt, there are still about 350,000 people in the northern part of the Gaza Strip who cannot move to the southern part of this Palestinian enclave.
