The Sweden-Armenia Friendship Group of the Riksdag, the Swedish parliament, has welcomed the decisions taken by the EU Council on providing assistance to Armenia under the European Peace Facility and opening a Visa Liberalization Dialogue with the country. Swedish MP Erik Hellsborn, a member of the aforementioned friendship group, informed about this by posting the respective statement on X—formerly Twitter.
Referring to the abovementioned decisions adopted by the EU Council on July 22, the statement notes that these decisions are a “very important milestone in the Armenia-EU partnership based on shared values, principles and vision for prosperity.”
"We, the undersigned members of the Sweden-Armenia Friendship Group in the Swedish Riksdag, welcome the decision of the EU Council and emphasize Sweden's support for the deepening of the Armenia-EU partnership and underline the EU's commitment to continue supporting Armenia," the statement added.
