Iranian consulate officer Syed Abul Hasan was shot dead in Pakistani city of Peshawar today, China Daily reports. According to the daily, Hasan died of wounds in the hospital. No group or organization claimed responsibility for the homicide. “Police said that the gunmen opened fire at Hasan, as he came out of his residence to go to the office,” the daily says.

Official Tehran and Pakistan condemned the crime.

Last year gunman kidnapped an Iranian diplomat Heshmatollah Atharzadeh in Peshawar.
