Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron during which they discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues, Turkish media reported.

Erdogan emphasized that Ankara continues its efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine and is ready to contribute to peace talks, including holding them on its territory. He noted the importance of a dialog in which both sides of the conflict will participate, without excluding any of them.

Referring to the situation in Gaza, the Turkish President said that the plan to resettle Palestinians in Egypt, Jordan or any other country is unacceptable.

At the end of the talks, the leaders agreed on closer coordination within NATO and increased interaction between Turkey and France in the new political cycle.
