A senior officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) told the BBC that his unit and others were ordered to cease fire on Russian positions minutes after the Russian-declared “Easter truce” was supposed to begin.
He also said that the order was to collect photo and video evidence of truce violations and to return fire if necessary (our interlocutor did not specify whether this had already happened in practice).
