November 24, the public hearings on UK’s involvement in Iraq war started, The Telegraph reports.

“We want to know what people across Britain think are the important questions,” the daily quotes inquiry chairman Sir John Chilcot.

“The Iraq inquiry was set up to identify the lessons that should be learned from the UK’s involvement in Iraq to help future governments who may face similar situations,” underlined Chilcot.

The inquiry team will question a number of officials, including Tony Blair and possibly former attorney general Lord Goldsmith on the matter.

The inquirers plan to report by the end of 2010.
