European states will send 7000 more troops to Afghanistan that is 2000 more than U.S. expects, said NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen., The Telegraph reports, referring to AFP.

According to him, Afghanistan is “not just America's war, what is happening in Afghanistan poses a clear and present danger to the citizens of all our countries.”

Rasmussen stated that many countries will discuss the issue at the conference in Mons (Belgium). It is noteworthy that poll shows Europeans oppose this initiative.

Georgia and South Korea are also expected to send about 500 and 800 soldiers.

Armenian peacekeepers will be sent to Afghanistan in February, 2010, said the Colonel Artur Simonyan, the commander of peacekeeping brigade at the RA Defense Ministry.
