EU relations with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine are one of the main focuses of Lithuania’s presidency.
“Another strong focus will be EU relations with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine - Lithuania‘s ‘traditional neighbourhood’ in the words of Grybauskaite [president of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite]- ahead of an Eastern Partnership summit being hosted in Vilnius in November,” Europe Online Magazine writes.
Ukraine hopes to an association and free-trade deal during the summit, while talks with Armenia, Georgia and Moldova are expected to be finalized in time for the summit.
Lithuania will take over presidency on July with the main task of restoring crisis-stricken economy and other challenges.
