With its decisions on Thursday, the government of Armenia has dismissed five provincial governors.

In particular, the governors of Aragatsotn, Lori, Vayots Dzor, Armavir, and Gegharkunik Provinces have been relieved of their duties. These provincial governors had been appointed with the quotas allocated to the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party.

As reported earlier, during Tuesday night’s rally in capital city Yerevan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he had proposed to the President to dismiss the ministers and provincial governors representing the PAP and the ARF.

But Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, who was nominated to this position by the PAP, had stated that he wished to continue working in the government.
