YEREVAN. – David Khudatyan, who was nominated by the Civil Contract Party, has won the mayoral election in Armenia’s Armavir town, and with overwhelming majority of votes.
The Central Electoral Commission has informed that, according to preliminary data, a total of 6,693 Armavir residents voted for Khudatyan. The candidate who came second garnered 1,626 votes.
Of the 26,036 eligible voters, however, solely 8,969 cast their ballots in Sunday’s snap mayoral election in Armavir.
