YEREVAN. – This time more representatives from the NATO member countries are included in the program, and that is quite important.

German Ambassador Bernhard Matthias Kiesler stated about the aforementioned at Monday’s press conference devoted to the start of NATO Week in Armenia.

In particular, the diplomat thanked the Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia for the Armenian military’s participation in NATO peacekeeping operations.

The ambassador, however, expressed disappointment that very small part of Armenian society is informed about the activities of this alliance.

Kiesler stressed that he had such impression primarily as a result of his interactions with the Armenian public. He said it seems NATO is known in Armenia to solely a narrow circle of analysts, and therefore not only discussions between specialists and analysts, but also the engagement by the broadest layers of the society was important this week.
