A delegation of government officials and state senators of California, Arizona, and Colorado is on a visit to Armenia. The visit is organized on the initiative of the Armenian National Committee of America.

According to Lieutenant Governor of California Eleni Kounalakis, the delegation’s members are delighted with the Armenian hospitality and energy of the people.

They have already had many important meetings, she told reporters on Wednesday. They have visited the Armenian Genocide memorial, where Kounalakis planted a tree on behalf of California.

The delegation also visited the TUMO center and the AUA.

California contributes to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, she added.

The representative of Colorado Daneya Esgar noted that this state is the only one where the khachkar was officially established, while one of the main highways last year was called Sardarapat.

Arizona Senator Otoniel Navarrete noted the effectiveness of meetings with Armenian parliamentarians.

Within the visit, the delegation will not visit Artsakh due to lack of time, but in the future, the members of the delegation expressed the wish to visit Karabakh without fail.
