Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets to take part in festivities and marches on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the victory of the Islamic revolution in the country in Tehran and other cities of Iran, IRNA reported.

People are chanting slogans in support of the Islamic revolution, which put an end to the monarchy in the country. Demonstrators also chant anti-American and anti-Israeli slogans.

On February 1, 1979, after 15 years of exile, the founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini returned to his homeland, and the Islamic Revolution triumphed on February 11, when the army declared its neutrality.
