Responding to a request to comment on the events currently unrolling in Armenia, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that they are "Armenia's internal affair." The ministry did not add anything to this comment, RIA Novosti reported.

As reported earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia has issued a statement demanding the resignation of PM Nikol Pashinyan and his government. Subsequently, Pashinyan stated that after this demand, he dismissed the Chief of the General Staff, Onik Gasparyan.

At the suggestion of the PM, President Armen Sarkissian had dismissed the First Deputy Chief of General Staff, of the Armed Forces Tiran Khachatryan, who, according to media reports, had mocked PM Pashinyan’s words about the alleged flaw of the Russian Iskander missile systems.
