A terrorist attack is being considered as one of the versions in the investigation into Sunday's explosion on Istanbul's Istiklal, a pedestrian tourist street. This is according to a message posted on Twitter on the page of the news portal Mynet.

According to its data, footage from all video cameras is being analyzed after the explosion. An investigation is being conducted to find out where the bag stuffed with explosives was left. The possibility of a terrorist attack is not being ruled out.

The Istanbul Prosecutor General's Office has launched an investigation into the blast on the pedestrian tourist street Istiklal in Istanbul, the newspaper Yeni Shafak notes.

Istanbul provincial governor Ali Yerlikaya said earlier that the explosion occurred on Istiklal Street in the Beyoglu district around 4:20 p.m. The explosion left dead and wounded and the number of casualties is being determined. The official cause of the explosion is not named.
