YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Deputy PM, Territorial Administration Minister, and Armenian-Iraqi Joint Intergovernmental Committee on Economic Cooperation Co-Chair Armen Gevorgyan met, on Thursday in Erbil, with Premier Nechirvan Idris Barzani of Iraqi Kurdistan. They discussed the avenues for establishing and, subsequently, developing bilateral trade and economic ties.

They reflected on the directions for interaction and the domains that are full of prospect, and stressed that there are ample opportunities for cooperation, Territorial Administration Ministry Public Relations Department informs.

The interlocutors attached a special importance to partnership in the energy sector and transport communication. Also, they highlighted the mutual visits, encouragement of business contacts, and formation of a legal and contractual framework.  

In addition, Armenia’s Deputy PM and Iraqi Kurdistan’s Premier reflected on the opportunities for likewise engaging the Iraqi Kurdistan government representatives in the activities by the Armenian-Iraqi Joint Intergovernmental Committee on Economic Cooperation.
