YEREVAN. – The sstatement by Foreign Minister of Turkey is another bluff of Turkish diplomacy, Armenian Deputy Speaker said commenting on Ahmet Davutoglu’s remarks.

In an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am Eduard Sharmazanov, spokesperson for ruling Republican Party of Armenia, said if Turkish authorities, as stated by the Foreign Minister, are ready to do everything to bring peace to the region, they need to address several issues.

“If Turkey is interested in establishing peace in the region, what prevents them from establishing diplomatic relations with Armenia without preconditions? What prevents Turkey from ending the blockade of Armenia? What prevents official Ankara from abandoning the policy of denial and recognizing the Armenian Genocide? What prevents them from ending the occupation of Cyprus? What prevents the Turkish authorities to abolish the notorious Article 301? If the Turkish authorities are so concerned about peace in the region, what prevents them from indulging stop militaristic rhetoric of official Baku? What prevents them from not interfering with the settlement of Karabakh issue? What prevents Ahmet Davutoglu from apologizing to the Armenian people for genocide, visiting the Museum of the Armenian Genocide and putting flowers at the memorial to the victims of the bloody events in Turkey upon his arrival in Yerevan?”

Sharmazanov also noted that if the above mentioned is carried out by the Turkish authorities, it will be the proof that Ankara intends to pursue a policy of peace. If it does not happen, it would appear that the statement of Foreign Minister of Turkey is another bluff Turkish diplomacy.
