Around 24 percent of Russian citizens consider Nagrono-Karabakh an independent state, the survey showed.

According to the poll conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center, 11 percent of Russians believe that this territory is a part of Armenia, and only nine percent think that it belongs to Azerbaijan. Half of the respondents found it difficult to respond.

The survey showed that 56 percent of Russians stand for peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict, and only 14 percent think that the issue cannot be solved without using weapons.

Besides, 45 percent of Russians are aware of the recent escalation in the Karabakh conflict zone, and 10 percent are aware of the details, while 35 percent have heard about tension.
