Opposition leader Yair Lapid has lambasted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for reaching a ceasefire agreement with Iran.
“In our [i.e. Israel] entire history, there has never been a diplomatic failure of this magnitude. Israel was not even present at the negotiating table when decisions were being made concerning the foundations of our national security,” Lapid wrote on X.
According to the Israeli opposition leader, although “the [Israel] military did everything that was required of them and the [Israeli] public showed amazing resilience,” Netanyahu “suffered a diplomatic and strategic defeat and failed to achieve any of his own goals.”
"It will take us years to repair the diplomatic and strategic damage caused by Netanyahu's arrogance, negligence, and lack of strategic planning," the Israeli opposition leader added.
