YEREVAN. – Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan attended and addressed official opening of the 8th Fruitful Armenia Conference, during which the participants will discuss the development of Armenian wine production.  

Sargsyan noted that this event enables to examine the challenges facing Armenia’s agriculture and to reveal new avenues for developing this sector, the Government press service informs. “The Government is exerting additional efforts and carrying out measures to modernize agriculture,” the PM said. 

He recalled that viticulture and winemaking have their special place in Armenia’s agriculture. “Studies show that we have a huge potential for developing viticulture. It is pleasing that there are new and serious investments in this domain. Today’s statistical data prove that the demand for grapes will exceed the supply. At the same time the grape quality will be more controlled,” Tigran Sargsyan noted.      

Also, he extended his thanks to Argentinean-Armenian businessman Eduardo Eurnekian for his investments made in this sector and for establishing modern vineyards in Armenia.  

To note, the 8th Fruitful Armenia Conference will bring together specialists from France, Argentina, Australia, and elsewhere.
