YEREVAN.-  One of the injured as a result of last week’s elevator accident that occurred in a newly constructed building in capital city Yerevan remains at the reanimation ward.

A health ministry representative told Armenian News-NEWS.am that 45-year-old Khachik Yepremyan is in a critical but stable condition. Gevorg Safaryan, the other man injured in an accident, is in a better condition, he is undergoing treatment in hospital.

The elevator’s cable had snapped from the building’s seventeenth floor and, as a result, the elevator had fallen on the persons who were working in the elevator shaft. MES had received this information last Thursday. But the elevator was not registered in the MES records and had not undergone an inspection. Two died and two others sustained injuries in the mishap.
