The income gap between the richest and poorest people in the world has reached to its highest level for the recent 20 years and is growing, Save the Children organization informs.

In recent decades the world has made dramatic progress in cutting child deaths and improving opportunities for children, however, the income level does still hamper various groups of residents in the world, human rights agency stated.

In most of the 32 developing countries the rich had increased their income since the 1990s, while in 20 percent of those countries, the incomes of the poorest had fallen over the same period. The gap has become particularly evident among children and affects their well-being.

Continuing inequality could hinder further progress in improving living standard, BBC informs.
