YEREVAN. – Armenian National Security Council (NSC) Secretary and Interagency Committee on Border Security Chairman Arthur Baghdasaryan on Tuesday received a delegation led by Dmitry Bezdelov, the Head of Russia’s Federal Agency for State Border Infrastructure Development, who is in capital city Yerevan on an official visit.
Baghdasaryan and Bezdelov discussed the opening—in Armenia—of a representation of Russia’s state-run Rosgranitsa agency and made arrangements on the envisioned activities, NSC press service informs.
The founding—in Armenia—of Russia’s largest such agency will greatly contribute to the modernization of Armenia’s border infrastructures and checkpoints, since the special units from Russia’s border guards protect Armenia’s state borders with Iran and Turkey.
Also, the interlocutors exchanged views on the Armenian-Russian cooperation in the security domain and regional developments.
