European Council President Herman Van Rompuy composed Japanese-style haiku poem during debates on granting loan to Greece. This time his poem is dedicated to autumn melancholy.

“The night has fallen/ The bare branches can be seen/ Even more lonely,” he wrote on his Twitter during a meeting of European finance ministers and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on a Greek bailout, RIA Novosti reported.

Herman Van Rompuy has been known for his love of composing haiku. In 2010 the European Council head published collection of poems in Dutch and translated into English, French, German and Latin.
