YEREVAN. – The ruling Republican Party (RPA) is a national conservative party, RPA MP Arayik Hovhannisyan said during a political debate held Thursday.

In his words, RPA has a realistic vision for the development of the country, and the body politic considers the party to be a political force with a long track-record. He recalled that RPA was the first party to be registered in Armenia.

“The road we have passed was not easy. Initially, we had one MP. [But] Today we are the first in the parliament by our representation,” Arayik Hovhannisyan stated.

In his turn, Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) MP Vahan Babayan noted that PAP is a centrist party, and it doubles the number of its mandates during parliamentary elections. In his words, PAP’s key organizations work every day.

“Many times we see that it is not history that shapes the individual, but, instead, it is the individual that shapes history,” Babayan added.
