YEREVAN. – The matter of setting up a meeting between the representatives Armenia’s and Azerbaijan’s state commissions on captives’ affairs was not discussed with the Azerbaijani representatives during the process of handing over Azerbaijani shepherd Telman Aliyev, who was on the Armenian side of the border. Armen Kaprielyan, head of the working group of the Armenian State Commission on Prisoners of War Hostages and Missing Persons, told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

From the Azerbaijani side,  deputy head Samedov of the working group from Azerbaijan’s similar commission took part in the meeting.

“[But] He was giving standard answers to all questions, which [that is, the answers] basically was that he is not authorized to answer such questions and publicize information. Although he noted that he is aware of all the negotiation processes and knows the final decision of Azerbaijan’s State Commission with respect to the given matter, he refused to answer our questions,” Kaprielyan noted, and added that Telman Aliyev’s handing over process took place without any incidents.
