YEREVAN. – Sovrano Company Director, Armenia’s ruling Republican Party member Arman Sahakyan won the parliamentary elections that were held Sunday in Electoral District No.35 of Shirak Region.  

The Central Electoral Commission provided Armenian News-NEWS.am the preliminary results of these elections, which are as follows: A total of 17,421 voters out of 55,971 eligible voters—or 31.07 percent—cast their ballots. Arman Sahakyan and opposition bloc Armenian National Congress nominee—Armenian National Movement Party member—Murad Grigoryan received 13,337 and 3,237 votes respectively. Also, 834 ballots were declared invalid.

To note, the MP mandate at Shirak Region’s Electoral District No.35 was vacated when Prosperous Armenia Party MP Samvel Balasanyan was elected City of Gyumri Mayor.
