YEREVAN. – The first Winter 2012 snow came down in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, and it is falling ever since the early morning hours of Tuesday (photo).   

The wet snow continues in the capital, albeit the meteorologists had not forecast any snowfall for Yerevan before Saturday. 

According to the Hydrometeorology Center, Tuesday’s daytime air temperature in the city will rise to 4-6 degrees Celsius, but no snow is expected for Wednesday.

Separately, all of Armenia’s highways are passable as of Tuesday at 9am, but there is black ice on some road sections, the Ministry of Emergency Situations press service informed Armenian News-News.am. 

Snow removal and road cleaning are in progress.
