YEREVAN. – Armenian presidential candidate, epos specialist Vardan Sedrakyan, is confident that he will receive 81 percent of the votes that will be cast in February’s elections. Sedrakyan himself stated this during a press conference on Tuesday.   

In his words, he is sure of his victory because he is coming not to compete against the country’s first, second, or third presidents, but rather to unite them around one idea.   

“This will not be the victory of Vardan Sedrakyan, but rather [that of incumbent President] Serzh Sargsyan, [second President] Robert Kocharyan, [First President] Levon Ter-Petrosyan, and all other political forces,” Sedrakyan said.   

Speaking about his foreign policy, the presidential candidate stated that he will reunite Nagorno-Karabakh and all liberated territories with Armenia, and he will make Nakhichevan likewise become an integral part of Armenia. Also, he said he will sign a military and strategic agreement with Iran. If elected President of Armenia, Vardan Sedrakyan plans to reunite Javakhk—Georgian name: Javakheti, is a predominantly-Armenian-populated part of Georgia’s southeastern Samtskhe-Javakheti Province—to Armenia within the next five years. Also, he envisions for Armenia and Russia to have a land border. Furthermore, Sedrakyan expressed a readiness to recognize the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
