YEREVAN. – Close to 2,000 people move to the United States from Armenia each year, and by way of Green Cards, which comprises a vary small part of all Green Card winners, US Consul in Armenia George Lynn said during a press conference on Tuesday.  

According to him, around one million people win US Green Cards every year all through the world.   

With respect to a possible suspension in the Green Card lottery, the consul noted that once the respective decision passes from the US House of Representatives, it will be discussed at the Senate as well. “But there is no [such] decision as of yet and the process may be delayed,” Lynn noted.  

With respect to the query as to whether they have received any complaints from the Armenian government in connection with the Green Card lottery, George Lynn responded that as far as he knows, no such complaints were received. 

To note, over 5,000 families from Armenia have moved to US ever since 2007.
