YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Deputy PM and Territorial Administration Minister Armen Gevorgyan met Friday in Moscow with Igor Slyunyaev, the Minister of Regional Development of the Russian Federation (RF). They discussed interaction matters.

The interlocutors recorded that practical steps are taken to deepen relations, Territorial Administration Ministry Public Relations Department informs. Specifically, they reflected on the two Armenian-Russian interregional conferences that were convened, and discussed matters with respect to holding of the third such event. Also, they underscored the establishing of contacts and holding of events with the partnering regions along the lines of these conferences. 

In addition, Armen Gevorgyan and Igor Slyunyaev spoke about the ongoing regional development reforms in Armenia and RF, and discussed the activities of the CIS Council for Interregional and Cross-Border Cooperation. Armenia’s Deputy PM presented the Armenian party’s considerations, with respect to the concept of CIS interregional and cross-border cooperation, according to which the emphasis needs to be put on interregional cooperation.
