YEREVAN. – The Parliament of Armenia ratified on Tuesday the agreement with NATO on regulating legal issues, according to which the stay of the Armenian peacekeepers is prolonged till 31st of December, 2014б within the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF).

According to the Deputy MOD Ara Nazaryan, Armenian peacekeepers do not participate in the military actions in Afghanistan, and they are assigned to ensure security.

As Armenian Ministry of Finance claims the Armenian side bears no financial liabilities. The service of the Armenian peacekeepers is funded by the German Parliament (except for the salaries), as the Armenian regiment is under the German command.
