YEREVAN. - The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the feast of Theophany and the Nativity of Jesus Christ on Sunday, in the memory of the events of Birth and Baptism of Christ.

The Armenian Apostolic Church starts the celebration on Saturday evening and it continues on Sunday as well. All Armenian churches serve holy liturgy and light candles. People take the candles and the lights from churches to their homes, which symbolize divine light and blessing of the church.

The servant of the liturgy pours holy oil in water and blesses it with a prayer. According to the tradition, believers take a small portion of the water to their homes as a remedy for the ill as the water, consecrated that day, is considered to be graceful and have special qualities.
