YEREVAN. – Armenian FM Sergey Manasaryan and Chinese Chargé d’Affaires in Armenia, Chao Ming Wen, signed Friday tan agreement on technical and economic cooperation between the governments of Armenia and China.
This agreement envisions 70-million-yuan (approx. $11,120,130) assistance to Armenia, and without collateral.
Customs inspection equipment is planned to be acquired with a part of this amount, and a considerable part of this money will be used for the founding of a school in Armenia with an advanced Chinese-language-teaching curriculum.
Ever since 1999, and within the framework of the aforesaid technical and economic collaboration, the Chinese government provides free-of-charge assistance to the Government of Armenia. Primarily agricultural, healthcare, and transport-related programs are carried out along the lines of this cooperation.
