YEREVAN. – Armenia’s National Security Council (NSC) Secretary, Arthur Baghdasaryan, on Friday received a delegation led by Mohamed Kamel Rezag Bara, Secretary for Coordinating the Activities of the Security Council of Algeria, and Presidential Adviser on Counter-Terrorism.

Following their private talk, an extended-format meeting was held, and a joint protocol was subsequently signed, whereby the areas of bilateral cooperation were outlined, NSC press service informs.

“This visit will open a new chapter in Armenian-Algerian ties. Algeria is a friendly country for Armenia. Algeria shares Armenia’s formal approach on numerous foreign policy directions. And during this visit we reached an agreement on deepening our cooperation. Also, we discussed matters related to investments. I believe we will not wait long for the results,” Baghdasaryan specifically said during the event.

“Warm and productive talks were held during my visit. We discussed matters of mutual interest. We understood as to what opportunities there are toward coordinating relations between the two countries,” Mohamed Kamel Rezag Bara said, in his turn.

Also, he noted yet again that Algeria stands ready to deepen collaboration with Armenia, and the agreements that are reached will serve toward the implementation of this objective.

To note, Mohamed Kamel Rezag Bara is the first senior Algerian official to have paid a visit to Armenia.
