YEREVAN. – Session of the Armenian Defense Minister’s Board was convened Friday at MOD, during which the discussants summarized the results of the activities that were carried out in 2012, and outlined the tasks for the 2013 academic year.
In his remarks, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan reflected on the measures that were taken, in the passing year, toward the continued strengthening of Armenia’s borders, improvement of the military turn of duty, and the progress that was registered during military drafts, MOD pres service informs.
In addition, the three large-scale military exercises that were conducted in Armenia were recorded among the most important events in 2012. Also, the minister underscored the raising of the combat-readiness of Armenia’s Armed forces.
At the end of the board session, Ohanyan awarded flags of honor to the military units that stood out the most by their combat-readiness, discipline, and protection of the borders of the Motherland, in the passing year.
Also, and by the order of the Minister of Defense, several military unit commanders and servicemen earned departmental medals, certificates of honor, and valuable gifts.
