YEREVAN. – The health condition of emergency medical service physician Armen Mkrtchyan, who was hospitalized as a result of a major road accident in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan on April 19, is still stable but severe, Erebuni Medical Center representatives told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

They informed that there is no change in his health condition and he continues to be hooked up to an artificial respirator. The health condition of nurse Anya Movsisyan, on the other hand, is relatively good. As for the ambulance driver, Hakob Galstyan, he underwent a surgery on his leg on Tuesday and he is in good condition.

To note, an ambulance and a Mercedes had crashed for yet unknown reasons, in Yerevan in late night on April 19, and as a result Mercedes’ driver, A. Chibukhchyan, 34, had died on the spot. The ambulance staff—physician A. Mkrtchyan, 33, nurse A. Movsisyan, and driver H. Galstyan—, on the other hand, were transferred to Erebuni Medical Center. 

Emergency Medical Assistance Service Director Taguhi Stepanyan had told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the ambulance staff was en route to answer a call.
