YEREVAN. – The Armenian coalition government’s junior partner, Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party (RLP), was not expecting such results in Sunday’s capital city Yerevan Council of Elders election, and that it would not become a council member.  

RLP MP Khachik Harutyunyan, who led the party’s campaign headquarters during the election, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.  

As for the chances of appealing the election results, Harutyunyan said they will have to discuss this matter. 

To the query as to the actual number of PAP members that are registered in Yerevan, he responded by saying that this issue will be taken up, too.  

To note, according to preliminary results, Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party received 15,733 votes, or 3.73 percent, in the Yerevan municipal elections. As a result, the party did not pass the 6-percent threshold to become a member in the Yerevan Council of Elders.
